Web Applications

What is a web application? Simply put, a web application is any application that brings functionality to your web site. Web applications range from simple guest books to shopping carts to fully interactive, visitor specific, dynamic, real-time delivery systems. Whew!

Application Technologies

Web applications are developed using technologies such as ColdFusion, Flash, .NET, ASP, and other application development environments. The type of application you need determines the tool used to create it. For example, an on-line interactive form that generates a customized letter, formats and prints the letter, and informs a third party by email can be accomplished using Flash. While a real-time services request and scheduling system is better suited to a .NET environment.

Front-End Applications

"Front-end" web applications are applications used by your visitors or clients while on your web site. From custom shopping cart applications to pre-existing solutions such as on-line chat services, front-end applications add visitor value to your site.

Back-End Applications

Order tracking and fulfillment, client and visitor tracking, and services ticketing systems are but a few applications of "back-end" systems. Back-end applications are those you interact with to provide a service or product for your visitors and clients. Some application systems such as on-line client chat services allow you to track a visitor through your site in real-time and offer immediate interaction with them while on your site.

Content / Client Management Systems (CMS)

Content Management Systems, also termed Client Management Systems, fall into the category of "back-end" applications. A CMS system allows you to update and maintain areas or your web site without needing programming skills or web site editors. All you need is a browser. Sound simple? It is.

Flash Applications

Flash is a very special technology. It's both amazing in its scope and capability to allow creation and delivery of fully interactive, multimedia applications. Although very well suited for entertainment, training and educational applications it also shines when used to create component applications placed within a web site. The best way to describe Flash is to see it in action. Take a look at some of our Flash examples.
